Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of loose material before applying this acoustical sealant.

Product Application

Cut nozzle to provide 1/4" (6mm) opening. Puncture seal inside spout and insert acoustical sealant cartridge into caulk gun. Apply 1/4" (6mm) beads under runners at the ceiling and floor. For optimal sound deadening, acoustical sealant should also be applied to all openings, including cutouts, electrical boxes, perimeter joints, and other areas where sound transmission and air infiltration may occur. For further reference, see ASTM C 919 Standard Practice for Use of Sealants in Acoustical Applications.

Cleanup

For wet acoustical sealant, use water. For dried acoustical sealant, scrape first, then wipe using a cloth dampened with mineral spirits.

Disposal

This acoustical sealant contains organic solvents which may cause adverse effects to the environment if disposed of improperly. Place empty acoustical sealant containers in normal refuse for disposal. Contact your sanitation department or household hazardous waste coordinator for information concerning possible reuse or disposal of unused solvent-containing adhesives and/or sealants.
