Subfloor & Deck Construction Adhesive (Low-VOC) (LN-902/LNP-902)

This low temperature and high temperature adhesive offers superior quality compared to typical exterior/interior heavy duty construction adhesive, gunning in temperatures as low as 22° and as high as 120°. Is is appropriate for subfloors and most common building materials, even wet or frozen lumber. It's also appropriate for foamboard because it is a latex-based construction adhesive and contains no solvents that could attack foam. The exceptional, low-VOC construction adhesive bridges gaps up to 3/8" and provides an open time of 20 minutes.

Surface Preparation

Make sure that all surfaces are clean, structurally sound and free of excess water. Wood may be damp, but the adhesive will take longer to dry. LN-902 can be applied at temperatures as low as 22° F (-6 degrees C).

Product Application

Condition LN-902 to at least 40° F (4° C) for easier gunning. Adhere materials within 15 to 20 minutes of gunning adhesive. Make sure skin of bead is broken. If it's not, scrape off and apply fresh bead. Allow 24 hours drying time before using construction area.

Foam Insulation, Foamboard, Paneling, Corkboard, etc. to Flat Surfaces

Apply a 1/4" (.64 cm) bead near the outside edges throughout field in lines 12" apart.

Subflooring (Conventional Tongue And Groove)

For added strength and to prevent squeaking, lay one 1/4" (.64 cm) zig-zag adhesive bead on each joist. On supporting joists where sheets meet, lay two zig-zag 1/4" beads for added strength and to prevent squeaking. Lay sheets with plywood face grain at right angle to joists. Space joists the thickness of a putty knife to allow for wood expansion. Nail section into place with 8d annular or spiral nails 12" (30 cm) on center on all joists. Subfloor must be under roof within 6 weeks of construction. For additional information regarding subfloors, refer to the American Plywood Association (APA) bulletin, "APA Glued Floor System."
