Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be clean and free from any loose matter before applying this high temperature adhesive. Surfaces may be damp. Apply this high temperature adhesive to one surface. For faster bonding, dampen surfaces lightly with water before applying the high temperature adhesive.

General Application

Press surfaces together within 5 minutes after applying this high temperature adhesive. For better tackiness, pull surfaces back apart for 3-5 minutes, then rejoin. Surfaces may be adjusted for 10 minutes after joining. This high temperature adhesive will reach initial cure in one hour and full cure in 6-8 hours.

Sealing A Tear

If ends cannot be overlapped, then lay ends as close together as possible. Lay a bead of high temperature adhesive over entire tear and a little past each end. Smooth the bead of high temperature adhesive so that it forms a thin film on both sides of tear. Wipe away excess high temperature adhesive with a dry cloth.

Bonding Pieces End-to-End

Find a suitable piece to use as a "splint" to reinforce the repaired joint. Apply high temperature adhesive to the splint over the area that will be in contact with the repaired piece. Apply high temperature adhesive to both ends of joint. Join all pieces together as desired and brace or clamp.

Plastics, Metals, and Non-Porous Surfaces

Plastics, metals, and non-porous surfaces that can be bonded with this high temperature adhesive include aluminum, steel, brass, PVC, fiberglass, rubber, neoprene, nylon, ABS, and polystyrene. HOME PROJECTS cannot be used to bond polyethylene or polypropylene. Apply a bead of high temperature adhesive to one of the surfaces to be bonded. Spread the bead of high temperature adhesive to cover the surface to be bonded. Join the surfaces together, then pull them apart and let stand for 5 minutes before pressing back together. For a quicker bond, mist the surfaces lightly with water before rejoining. Allow 1 hour before light use and 8 hours before normal use.

Cleanup

If this high temperature adhesive is wet, wipe it away with a clean cloth. If the high temperature adhesive has dried, scrape it away.
