Clear Seal All-Purpose Sealant (CS-144)

A premium grade, clear waterproof sealant, Clear Seal All Purpose Sealant gives a watertight, mildew-resistant seal on most surfaces and common building materials. Clear Seal is clearer than silicone construction sealant and provides excellent adhesion, durability and flexibility.

Recommended For:

sealing and waterproofing glass, fiberglass, rubber, ceramic tile, masonry, window and door frames, metal, concrete, brick, acrylics, siding, wood, vinyl, moldings, porcelain and all common building materials.

NOT Recommended For:

use on polystyrene foam insulation, below the waterline, aquariums, automotive uses, on top of silicone, or wet or green wood (excessive joint movement might be experienced as wet or green wood dries).

Surface Preparation

Clean and dry surface thoroughly before applying this waterproof sealant. Remove any old caulk with mineral spirits. Fill any deep joints with solid filler to within 1/2" of surface. Waterproof sealant should be applied in dry weather at temperatures above 40°F (4°C). For easier gunning in cold weather, condition waterproof sealant to room temperature prior to use. Do not use this product when rain is expected within 24 hours.

Cartridge Application

Puncture inner seal with nail or wire. Using consistent pressure, apply continuous bead of waterproof sealant into gap at 45° angle. Do not tool. Sealant skins over within 5 minutes.

Squeeze Tube Application

Knead waterproof sealant tube to soften contents. Cut tip at 45° angle where marked for desired bead size. To apply waterproof sealant, start at back end and squeeze toward nozzle. Using consistent pressure, apply continuous bead into gap at 45° angle. Do not tool. Sealant skins over within 5 minutes.

Painting Guidelines

Paintable with oil or latex paint after 24 hours. Humidity may extend drying time.

Drying Time

Sets in 24 hours. Allow 5 days for waterproof sealant to completely dry.

Cleanup

Use mineral spirits. Dried waterproof sealant can be scraped or cut away.
