LIQUID NAILS® Construction Adhesives: Tips & Tricks

Tips For Building An Outdoor Kitchen Island

When building an outdoor kitchen island, many people choose to use a wood frame and stone veneer. Although a wood frame is obviously much lighter than a frame made of concrete or actual stone, there are steps you can take to help make it almost as sturdy.

For optimal strength, supplement screws with the right construction adhesives in the right places.

  1. Use LIQUID NAILS® Brand Subfloor & Deck Construction Adhesive everywhere a 2x4 meets a 2x4.
  2. Use LIQUID NAILS Brand Subfloor & Deck Construction Adhesive between the frame of the island and the plywood used to create the sides.
  3. Use LIQUID NAILS Brand Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive between the counter and the top of the frame.

These adhesives are not only specifically formulated to bond the materials listed but also made to withstand the repeated temperature and humidity changes that happen outdoors.

Such weather changes cause building materials to expand and contract, putting stress on the joints. LIQUID NAILS Brand Subfloor & Deck Construction Adhesive and LIQUID NAILS Brand Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive are flexible enough to move with the building materials and maintain a tight bond in nearly any weather. The result is a sturdier, longer-lasting structure.
